The International Business major is offered as a specialization for the Bachelor of Business Administration program and will prepare students for careers at organizations around the world.
Why International Business?
The International Business major provides students with skills that allow them to act and think on a global scale. The program is designed to position students to either start their careers or pursue Masters Degrees upon graduation.
This Major focuses on the interaction between global affairs and the functional domain of the enterprise from an international perspective. The core curriculum includes International Business strategy, marketing, finance, human resource management, and sustainable development. Students have the option to choose between foreign language credits and equivalent credits in anthropology, political science, sociology, First Nations studies, and global studies. Students also have opportunities for international learning with a variety of options for field schools, international internships, and study abroad opportunities.
Career Opportunities
Students will be prepared for careers in profit or not-for-profit organizations around the world. Careers that International Business students may be able to pursue include those in the fields of consulting, international brand management, international human resources management, international advertising, foreign exchange trading, international lending, and government.
